This 4 week online course is for children aged 8-10 years and will teach:
  • Mindfulness techniques to help children calm their busy minds
  • Practical ways to cope with difficult emotions
  • Gratitude practices to help children develop a positive outlook
  • Self-compassion tools to teach them how to be kinder to themselves

Course Details:

Duration: Every Saturday from Nov 14th - Dec 5th, 2020
Time: 11am-11.30am (Irish time)
Age group: 8-10 years
Class size: 5 children maximum per class

Each lesson will be 30 minutes long and will be delivered online over Zoom. Instructions on how to prepare the child for each lesson will be sent by email after registration.

    What is Mindfulness? 
    Put simply, mindfulness is a practice of focusing on being in the present moment and setting aside mental distractions.  Research has shown that children who practice mindfulness experience the following benefits, among others: 

      - Improved attention span (great for school and homework) 

      - Greater compassion for themselves and others 

      - More capable of regulating their emotions 

      - Calmer in stressful situations 

      - Reduced anxiety or stress

    About the Instructor 
    Lisa Toner is an accredited children's mindfulness teacher based in Dublin, Ireland. She holds a Diploma in Child Psychology and has Certifications in Suicide Alertness and Understanding Youth Mental Health. She spent 3.5 years as a volunteer at Childline and went on to found ETCH in 2017 where she develops products that help build positive mental health in children.
